Longevity Conferences 2023
Curated list of Longevity Conferences, where you can explore the latest research and developments in the field of aging and longevity.
What is the mTOR pathway, how it is activated and inhibited and how all this relates to longevity?
Our cells do various things. They may be breaking down glucose to generate energy for muscle contraction, they may be replicating DNA, or they may be fixing damage. Coordination and regulation of these different activities are through various cellular signalling pathways. Like how we respond to red lights and green lights in the street, cells use different signalling pathways to control whether an activity should be performed or not. In this video, we will discuss the mTOR pathway. This pathway is frequently mentioned in aging research and so it is important to understand what the mTOR pathway is and what it does, how it is activated and inhibited and how all this relates to longevity.
